Nutritional therapy is the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health, peak performance and individual care. Our highly skilled and experienced nutritionist uses a wide range of tools to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to your symptoms and health concerns.
We will always recommend personalised nutrition and lifestyle programmes customised to your needs and not a “one-size-fits-all” approach. Our nutritional services is never recommended as a replacement for medical advice and we always refer any client with “red flag” signs or symptoms to a medical professional or through our clinical team here at ALMA. We are happy to work alongside other medical and allied health professionals involved in your care to explain any nutritional programme that has been provided.
We can consult on:
- Digestive Health
- Female hormonal health
- Cardiometabolic, e.g. obesity, diabetes, blood pressure
- Inflammatory conditions
- Cognitive function
- Energy levels
- Body composition, e.g. exercise performance and weight management
What to expect from a nutrition consultation
A nutrition consultation starts with a detailed case history. This is where your clinician will take plenty of time in getting to know you and your goals, and how your current symptoms are affecting you.
This all helps your therapist form a diagnosis and through nutritional science, develops a personalised, safe and effective nutrition and lifestyle programme.
At this point, your clinician will explain to you their findings and what options are available to you through treatment and referral, if necessary.
